Naturis’s quinoa syrup originates from one of the oldest and most precious foods in the world.
Quinoa is an herbaceous plant that grows at an altitude of 13,000 feet, where the air is uncontaminated.
Quinoa’s small grains have many nutritional properties. They provide a significant energy intake mainly from carbohydrates, followed by proteins and small quantities of lipids. Protein can reach 14% of the total mass, a higher percentage than in most wheat and corn. Quinoa’s complete set of proteins are qualitatively superior to those of cereals, and helps satisfy the human need for essential amino acids.
Quinoa is also recommended for a vegan diet, which lacks high biological value peptides of animal origin.
From seeds to syrup: the process
Quinoa syrup is obtained from the hydrolysis of quinoa flour, using only natural enzymes.
Naturis’ process can convert carbohydrates, and reach the degree of sweetness required by the customer.
Within reasonable limits, it is also possible to control the quantity of glucose and maltose.
Upon request, it is also possible to analyze the content of oligosaccharides.
On the whole, Naturis’ production process can usually control the main characteristics of the desired end product to adapt it to the needs of the customers, e.g. : the degree of sweetness (expressed by the abbreviation "DE": Dextrose Equivalent); density, water content, and the parts of solid substances (expressed in Brix)
